Red as a Lotus: Letters to a Dead Trappist by Lisa Gill

image

Originally given an old copy of Thomas Merton’s Seeds of Contemplation by a friend’s mother, Lisa Gill began a series of 14 line poems which meticulously transcribe her own spiritual reckoning.

An absolutely beautiful collection of poems. Lisa Gill shines in Red as a Lotus. Whether you are or aren’t a fan/reader of poetry this is a must read. To pass on this collection would be missing out on something wonderful lyrically and spiritually. Gill’s poems are inspiring, touching and enchanting. No doubt she is a masterful poet, looking forward to reading more from this uber talented woman.

I cannot emphasize how unique and appealing Red as a Lotus is. It’s more than a collection of ethereal prose, rather intimate journal/letters with beautiful melodic verse. Very unique in content, I know all would enjoy Lisa Gill’s Red as a Lotus.
